I've been an active musician for nearly 15 years playing shows and making/recording music. I've found drumming to be something that calms my life and that builds important skills like mindfulness and patience. Having another outlet for creativity is such an important thing to have in life. In my 11+ years of teaching drums and how to be in bands, I've specifically enjoyed getting those points across. Teaching hundreds of students from ages 5 to 75 (all with unique things 'holding them back'), I've learned that anyone can do this and I'm willing to prove it to you! I have a real passion for helping people discover their voice in music. I work together with my students to find their personal path to reach their goals.

In terms of my playing, I try to find inspiration in a wide variety of music. I love the tastefulness Ringo Starr (The Beatles) brings to every song he plays on, always knowing how to not overplay and how to give the song exactly what it needs. I can't get enough of the power and expression Stewart Copeland (The Police) brings to his music. I really take a lot of inspiration from the improvisational fluidity of Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix) in my playing and my lessons. I love the creative parts Dave Grohl (Nirvana) has on his songs and they're so helpful to teach with. You've gotta respect the greats like John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Neil Peart (Rush), Keith Moon (The Who), and so many others. I take a lot of inspiration from the creative voices of Elliott Smith (Elliott Smith), Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Fiona Apple (Fiona Apple), Frank Ocean (Frank Ocean), Elvis Costello (Elvis Costello and the Attractions), Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys), and the list goes on.
